Tour The Dutch Home of NLXL Founders Rick & Esther Vintage

Posted by Jane Richards on

Just outside The Hague, Netherlands is the Dutch town of Voorburg - considered to be the oldest city in The Netherlands. Here you will find the home of Rick & Esther Vintage, the creative director and president of NLXL, along with their two children Lux and Ella. The converted eighteenth century farmhouse was once divided into two properties.

In 2013 the Vintage family bought the other half from their neighbours so they could restore the farmhouse to its former glory. Where the wall once separated the two properties, there is now a glass partition that incorporates the original beams (excellently done may we add). Throughout the property the focus is on raw materials like wood, ceramic and marble, staying true to the original farmhouse.

Rather than creating a home that massages the ego and achievements of NLXL's success, there are very few areas that are wallpapered, but of course those that are, feature standout designs from the company's impressive back catalogue. One thing that is evident in the overall scheme is that great design and quality is timeless.
