Country Kitchen

This kitchen was designed to be much more than an area to prepare food, but a social hub and entertainment area too. The stone floor complimented this spacious, light and airy room and the Black granite surfaces gave a stunning contrast to the oak cabinetry and modernised the look of this traditional kitchen. The cabinets near the sink area were stepped forward to give a different dimension to what could have been a long line of straight work surface.

The island, range and tiled splash back were a deliberate contrast to the rest of the kitchen.

The triple aspect of this room gave a panoramic view of the garden and the double doors opening into the garden extended the kitchen and entertainment area further. We commissioned a large table with oversized legs which gave proportion to the room, the contemporary chairs and art complimented the over all traditional look.

The very neutral colour of the walls allowed us to use a bright and bold fabric for the curtains and soft furnishings. The soft Green in the fabric was chosen to compliment the lush tropical planting in the garden. The curtains were interlined for warmth and gave a heavy luxurious look to the very large window with roman blinds sitting inset the windows either side. The armchairs were designed for comfort in a traditional style with a modern leg to unite the classic and contemporary mix.
